Alarm Devices:
TeleNavigators specializes in the integration of custom alarming solutions to maximize effectiveness. Below is a list an explanation many of the devices that we can use to detect the alarm upon important issues.
Door Sensors and Window Sensors detect if a door/window is open or closed. These sensors can either be surface and recess mounted. Surface Mount sensors can be seen on the edge of the door/window and frame. Since these sensors and wiring is typically exposed, it is preferable to use sensors that are recessed into the door/window frame and covered when the door/window is closed. However, recessed sensors are often someone more expensive to install.
Glass Tape Sensors are thin metallic strips that can be applied to a window and will break if the window breaks, thus sensing window breakage in most cases. This metallic tape is normally placed around the edge of the window to prevent obstruction of the view. Although Glass Tape is inexpensive, it must be applied to each window and therefore has been replaced by the following detection devices in many newer solutions.
Glass Break Detectors can accurately detect the sound of breaking glass, and therefore can efficiently protect multiple windows in an area.
Infrared Motion Detectors use passive infrared beams to detect motion of heated objects, such as people in vehicles. Multiple beams of different strength can be used to cover areas of different size and shape. Motion Detectors are available for both indoor or outdoor applications.
Many of the newer Motion Detectors utilize both infrared and microwave detection simultaneously. This can improve detection sensitivity and reduce false alarms. Many newer motion detectors also have a feature called Pet Immunity. This allows sensitivity and been positioning to be adjusted so that small pets do not trigger a false alarm.
Photo Electric Beams & Infrared Beams can use an invisible beam of light to detect when a person, vehicle or object comes into contact with that beam. Multiple beams can be used to create an indoor or outdoor barrier and increase both sensitivity and rejection of false alarms.
Water Sensors can detect when water is present in an area where it should not be. This can alert a person to take action and activate a pump before expensiveexpensive water damage occurs.
Temperature Sensors can be configured to detect pre-set low or high temperatures, alerting a person to take action before products or equipment equipment are damaged.
Analog Phone Line Reporting is a very common way for an alarm system to communicate with a Central Monitoring Station. Alarm Systems can be configured to seize control of a shared phone line and disconnect other users in order to reliably report an alarm.
Internet Reporting can also be used as a backup or primary reporting communication like to a Central Station.
Wireless Reporting is perhaps the best backup communication link, since it can protect against a total cut of all voice and data wiring. Mobile Communication can also enable professional alarm monitoring of a mobile asset such as a van or trailer.
